Protecting our Future
LJA Engineering has experience in working with environmental engineers, biologists, scientists, and geologists in the delineation and restoration of wetlands, staking of monitoring well locations, site remediation projects and hazardous waste landfill closures.
Project experience includes restoration of Bessie Heights Marsh by the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife, landfill levee subsidence monitoring at ExxonMobil Beaumont Refinery, and beach erosion control project at Pelican Island in Galveston for the Texas General Land Office. Other projects include location of monitoring wells at various superfund cleanup sites in Texas.
Field crews will often wade off into the marshes to locate property boundaries or limits of wetlands. Other times they will utilize watercraft or even hovercraft to navigate the waterways and coastal esturaries to locate underwater oyster beds or determine depths of water. They are rewarded by some of the most scenic views of nature and wildlife in available in Texas and along the Gulf Coast.
